What We Do

Our Humane Society operates a no-kill shelter, and we are the only animal welfare agency in Lake County that investigates cruelty, abandoned and/or abused animals.

EDUCATION

As part of its responsibility to educate the public regarding the proper care and treatment of pets and other animals, the Humane Society:

• Provides volunteer instructors for programs in the public schools;
• Provides speakers to civic organizations and other groups;
• Offers "Who To Call" information about sources and agencies dealing with injured, abused, neglected, lost, found and wild animals; and
• Offers pamphlets and information on the care of cats, dogs, horses and other animals.

Educators are available at no charge to teach about animal safety.  This is a free program, and is appropriate for all school age children and adult programs.  Our goal, as educators, is to speak with every child in Lake County about animal safety.  Together with our communities' support, we hope to eliminate or to reduce the mistreatment of animals.  If interested in speaking with our educator, please contact us.

ATTENTION:  The Humane Society has an upstairs apt for rent in downtown Eustis. It is a one bedroom that has been completely renovated.
